The Secret- The Law of Attraction - The Seductive Movement Completely Exposed
The hit movie and runaway best selling book have struck a chord in Americans.
What is it about The Secret that has captivated the minds of millions?
Authors of The Secret say that your mind vibrates electromagnetic waves that entrain with other objects and living beings that vibrate similarly in the universe and bring them magnetically to the individual. "Like attracts like, just like a magnet." (Magnets: Opposites attract.)
Specifically, Author Rhonda Byrne says that you can "think of a feather and it will appear." She says that it's "as easy to attract $10,000 as it is $1." And, she says it's all a law that is proven by science and was known by Churchill, Einstein, Plato and Beethoven, to name a few.
She quotes Buckminster Fuller as having said that there is an abundance of wealth on the planet, "enough for $12 MILLION dollars per person.
What possibly could be wrong with such a law of science?
One co-author says, 'It's like the law of gravity..."it works all the time, every time."
Wednesday night March 21st, 2007, you can join Blair Warren, Dave Lakhani and Kevin and find out just what lies behind the claims of The Secret.
* Is there really a Law of Attraction that works like gravity...every time...all the time?
* Is all you have to do to get ANYTHING you want in life, "picture it in your mind, get a good feeling about it, be open to receive it?"
* What was the influence of Spiritual Beings on the exposition of this Universal Law?
* Why were some people cut from the movie at the last minute?
* Why have the promoters of the book and movie stopped doing television and media interviews?
* What dangers lie in your family because of The Secret?
* Why is The Secret the single most potentially destructive book published since Mein Kampf?
* If The Secret is so dangerous, why did it attract some of the world's best marketers?
* Someone told you, "The Secret worked for me. I know it's for real." Find out what that really means.

Please also have your email address handy when you call in. This teleconference is a public service and the panel members are not being paid for their time. It all begins at 6 PM Pacific, 8 PM Central, 9 PM Eastern. If you have a question, mail it to question@kevinhogan.com and we'll do our best to get your question answered live. Maybe we can even get you on the air!
Pretty strong words, one could interpret your questions as statements and your statements as an attempt to discredit what has been told from teacher to student for thousands of years. However knowing your background, and your propensity for fairness I expect this to be an interesting phone call indeed.
I was actually going to buy a copy of The Secret but decided to put it off in order to hear what you had to say BEFORE reading the book. Knowing my background... how's that for giving you your due? :)
Peace Brother... until tomorrow.

Dave-
Your clear and lucid concise take on the good bad and ugly of The Secret was nothing short than awesome! You and the other guests shed such a beaming light onto this subject that I and anyone who listened learned on many levels.
Thank you for giving.

Dave:
I'm listening to you on a Ben Mack call talking to a gentleman about 'The Law of Attraction'. You're speakin my mind, man. Thank you for saying 'it's not a law'; 'Secret' afficianados who appropriate scientific lingo for their fluffy (and maybe nefarious) purposes should check themselves, put zen & the art of motorcycle maintenance and whatever it is they're smoking down and get back to critical thinking, defining their terms (definitively), and not confusing gravity with a hippyesque feel-good psudo-reality.
The most evil and hurtful people (I mean thieves of other people's retirements $60-$130K range) I have ever known personally were huge proponents of Ester Hicks & Abraham, Alice Bailey, The Secret, etc. In fact, in part by propegating those warm and fuzzy ideas they got people mesmerized (using highly refined skills of persuasion) and took them for everything they could. They did this without remorse or even a second thought, and a complete sense of entitlement.
I appreciate your articulate formation of many, many problems with The Secret; I'm enjoying listening to you on this call. Thanks.

Hi Dave!
I can relate somewhat to your experience with the Branhamites... though, in my family, I was actually forbidden to attend any kind of organized religious service.
Mom was a no-nonsense small-town Ohioan influenced by those "odd" Quakers and "damned" atheists; but Dad (stepdad) was a dirt-poor Floridian whose family members considered church service the accepted Southern way to meet-and-greet - even if his family members weren't always exactly pious.
Some of the conflicts between them and us kids were alternately amusing and full of conflict, as you might imagine.
One of my earliest childhood escapades happened because Mom - a young divorcee then, before she was remarried to my stepdad - wouldn't allow my younger brother and me to accept an invitation to go to Sunday school up the street.
At the time, I was about 4 and Bob was 3, and neither one of us quite knew how to tie our shoelaces yet. But early one Sunday morn we resolved anyway to sneak out and give in to our friends' repeated invitations to... at last... finally... go to Sunday school!
Pretty brave for a couple of little tykes, huh? Completely in defiance of Mom's wishes - who was known to swing a mean belt, even then.
Anyway... at the service there seemed to be quite a commotion... since everyone wanted to know who we "belonged to"... and were we "saved"... where were our Bibles... and did we want to learn how to tie our shoes, etc.
So, but of course we wanted to be saved - from getting a whuppin' when we were found out!
Sheepishly walking home - the church was literally only about a block away from the rented duplex in an old Victorian we called home - we were arrested... by the police!
And Mom wanted the church pastor arrested too!
Years later, in high school and into adulthood, I was always getting smitten by some seductress who would sweetly but persistently harass me about going to church, the ashram, to yoga class... or to change my hairstyle or my less than up-to-par fashion sensibilities... always something.
And most of them used some pretty marvelous persuasion tactics on me to help me defy my upbringing more than once, I must say.
You see, they just were not going to let me get past that good-night kiss... or whatever... and I knew it... without them having to always come right out and say it either!
It was these kinds of experiences that proved those damn girls - no matter what their beliefs - sure knew how to make me feel good all over, let me tell you.
I loved all the attention they lavished on me... trying desperately to get me to see the errors of my ways.
And I learned just what buttons to push to get them to see about my needs in return!
Now past 50, I can accept certain relationship matters in our "everyday busy-ness" never really change that much at all.
Whether in our personal or our business lives... influence and persuasion... and universal laws...
... Keep me motivated all the time... to seek whatever's pleasurable!
Best regards,
Lark

Hi Dave,
Another amazing dvd is now available, similar to The Secret, and promising to be every bit as popular, called: Millionaire: Awaken Your Secret.
The dvd is based on Napoleon Hill's classic, Think And Grow Rich.
Martin Dunkerton, star of the movie and playing himself, finds himself financially destitute, and decides to test the principles laid out in the book, in order to see if they still work, today.
You can see the trailer and buy the movie here--as well as becoming an affiliate, to market the movie yourself:

See for yourself!!
I saw the movie and loved it! and now plan to show it to disadvantaged children, to give them a head start with self-determination!!
Thank you,
Kate Loving Shenk

What can I say about your writing but “wow” – you really know your subject and put your points across well. I can’t wait for your next post. I’ve found a guy who is good to read too will pass the details on when I find them.

Normally I wouldn’t comment on posts but I felt that I had to as your writing style is really good. You have broken down a difficult area so that it easy to understand. I think that you would enjoy reading what another good blogger has to say on the subject.
