Adobe, great work, but go the extra step, encourage entrepreneurship, encourage independence, let people create projects they can sell and become financially stable so that they can buy more of your software, you've taken the hard step of creating some massive good will and loyalty, give them the chance to reciprocate after they make some money!
And, what a great PR and Marketing opportunity as well. This is a great example of how you can leverage something that doesn't cost you that much (the cost of actually producing the software is fairly low) into a great message that the media will love. If Adobe were simply to put out a media release and leverage their PR team to say "We are doing out part to end unemployment, increase vital programming skills for unemployed tech workers and encouraging the creation of jobs through entrepreneurship, they could be a thought leader and a brilliant example for everyone else.
Still, even dropping short of brilliance, I'm thrilled to see Adobe take this very progressive step.
Well said.
